Toys for Tots 2009
Supported by the U.S. Marines, this program collects new un-wrapped toys to distribute to needy children while bringing a message of hope.

Angel Tree Toy Program
A program developed to bring Christmas gifts to children whose parents are in prison.

Wake County Public School System

If you are thinking about moving to the area, or are already in Wake County, you probably want to know the latest information on the Wake County Public School System.  The school system serves the following cities: Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Wendell, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Holly Springs, Morrisville and Zebulon.  The school system is actually the largest system in the state and the 19th largest in the nation.  There are 156 schools total with 99 elementary schools, 30 middle schools, 23 high schools and 4 special/optional schools currently in the area.  The schools also operate on different instructional calendars, so that families can have alternative options for their school year.  If you prefer the traditional summer off or the in school nine weeks and track out for three, these varied schedules are available to you.  In addition, Wake County Public School System boasts many magnet programs that allow for a certain specialty area such as the arts, international studies, or integrated curriculum to be taught at the schools.  To find out how to register your student, learn more about the different schools or even see the yearly awards/accomplishments for the school system, go to their website: Wake County Public School System.
