Egg Hunts in the Triangle

Spring is here and Easter egg hunts are right around the corner.  Below is a list of fun Triangle events for children and their families. Many community hunts’ have age restrictions, so please check event details. 

Raleigh: Saturday, April 16th 11 a.m. Check your local community centers plus Brier Creek, Lake Johnson, Laurel Hills and Tarboro Road. For kids10 and younger. Call 831-6640 or click here for locations.

Raleigh: Saturday, April 23rd 10 a.m-1:30 p.m. At Moore Square Park, downtown Raleigh.   Raleigh’s biggest festival and egg hunt for kids of all ages.  For more information click here.

Cary: Saturday, April 16th 10:00 a.m. Kids ages 10 and under are invited to Cary’s Bond Park, 801 High House Road, for the 20th Annual Easter Egg Hunt with morning and afternoon hunts. For more details, including a schedule of egg hunts, click here or call (919) 460-4965.

Apex: Saturday, April 16th 10 a.m. For ages 9 and under at the Apex Town Hall Campus. For more information, click here or call 919-249-3402. 

Fuquay-Varina: Saturday, April 16th 10 a.m. For ages 10 and under at South Park at 820 South Main Street. Over 12,000 candy filled eggs and several special eggs that can be exchanged for special prizes. For more information, click here or call 919-552-1430. 

Morrisville: Friday, April 22nd 10 a.m.at Cedar Fork District Park, off Aviation Parkway. The children will be divided by age, and there will different sections of the Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 3 – 10. For more information, click here.

Durham: Saturday, April 16th 10:00 a.m.- 2 p.m. Bethesda Park. For kids 12 and younger. Call 560-4355 or click here for details.

Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Orange County: Saturday, April 16th 9:30 a.m. to noon.  At Homestead Park, Chapel Hill for kids ages 2 to 10. The spring festival includes an egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., entertainment, games and prizes. For more information, click here or call 968-2784.

Garner: Saturday, April 16th 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.. Join us for the annual Egg Hunt & Kite Fly at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road.  The egg hunt is scheduled at 11 a.m. for kids 8 and younger. Click here or call 772-4688 for details.

Wake Forest: Saturday, April 9th Egg hunts start at 10:30 a.m. depending on age.  At E. Carroll Joyner park at 701 Harris Road. The hunts start at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3 and under; 11:30 a.m. for ages 4-6; 1:30 p.m. for ages 7-9; and 2:30 p.m. for ages 10-12. Click here or call 554-6180 for details.

President Obama Signs Extended Tax Credit into Law

If you thought your time was running out to use the homebuyer tax credit, your luck just changed!  Today, President Obama signed the bill into law extending the $8000 first-time homebuyer tax credit.  In addition, this new law now includes a $6500 tax credit for buyers who are current home owners and have lived in their home for five of the past eight years.
